I was one of the judges for Thursday and Friday. Since I did a brief write-up for each entry I’m sharing it here. Enjoy.
androoo Hot Wheels Speed Machines Bugatti Veyron (1/64): Well the article states right off:
The Hot Wheels casting of the Veyron is downright awful
This is an honest assessment unfortunately. Still, it’s a Veyron and again androoo had the foresight to purchase it at retail.
Tinfoil MBX Cadillac Limo (1/64): A funny post you should check out. This Caddy really doesn’t qualify though.
SN210 Bburago Bugatti EB110 (1/18) Is Bugatti French? This is a tough one to judge. I like it.
Jobjoris BoS Citroën SM Opéra (1/43) Unlike the others, this is about as French as you can get. Despite being a resin model that doesn’t actually roll I can’t find fault with it, in fact I wish I had one!
edu-petrolhead DKW-Vemag Belcar (1/43) A French Brazilian car? The write up on this car is fantastic. Pretty cool model too, as the taillights in particular stand out.
wanclick Majorette Renault Alpine A110-50 (1/64): A neat concept, likely to be production, car made by Majorette. The detailing for a 1/64 is solid.
Philip Norev Alpine A110 (1/64): Not too much info on this (very) pink car but still looks interesting.
TFritch Hot Wheels Peugeot 205 T16 (1/64): Just like I have a soft spot for Citroën, I do love Pugs. This 205 is colored in a fashion that almost recalls the Harlequin Golf of the 1990s. It has a hatch that opens revealing the mid-engine, suspension, and Citroën SM based gearbox. Quite impressive for a 1/64 Hot Wheels.
Section38 Minichamps Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (1/18): A quality model with nifty details. I’m still blown away that it has gas caps on both sides!
